Gone for awhile, back for awhile, and finally back to were i was.

I think it's real funny how someone can be away from a place for a period of time doing whatever and come around long enough to show that they still exist and then all the sudden finally come back around for a more better standing and all the sudden their put right back on top of the pedestal they were knocked from while they were away doing whatever. And people get put in higher roles when they aren't even respected in the ones they hold. but oh well that's life i guess .

My Daddy is a Fireman

We're seldom named in poems, though we do have charm and poise,

Firemen never seem to have girls; it's always boys, boys, boys!

Well, my Daddy's a fireman, and I'm proud as I can be,

While my name isn't Tommy or Billy, he loves me 'cause I'm me.

He needs both me and Mommy to remind him of things to do,

Like going to Church on Sunday and emptying the garbage, too.

One day he took me with him to his firehouse downtown,

I sat in the big red engine and pushed the siren down.

At times, I like… Continue

Fireman's Wife

When you are gone, I feel alone-
When you're away, I want you home.
I miss you here, right next to me-
But that's the way it has to be.
When duty calls, it seems unfair-
You should be here, but you are there.
Helping people, saving lives-
I am one of many wives.
God, keep him safe, watch over him-
When the work is hard, when the times are dim.
Late at night or the early morn-
When he is tired,
When his spirit's worn.
Give him strength, be his guide-
Let him know you're at his side.
I love this m… Continue

Vol Fire Dept

All over our country
in communities and towns
Big Red and Yellow trucks
are setting around.

Each truck has a number
painted on its side,
it fills each of its
members with a great deal of pride.

There's a closeness
with members that's hard to explain
It's a brotherhood of
"Dancers with Flames".

You fight the fires
you smell of smoke
you're bone tired
your clothes are soaked.

You do the job
the best you can
It's for your neighbors
and your fellow man.

Now it's not easy
being a fireman's wife… Continue

Creation of the Firefighter

When the Lord was creating firefighters, he was into his sixth day of overtime when an angel appeared and said, "You're doing a lot of fiddling around on this one."

And the Lord said, "Have you read the specification on this person? Firefighters have to be able to go for hours fighting fires or tending to a person that the usual everyday person would never touch, while putting in the back of their minds the circumstances. They have to be able to move at a second's notice and not think twice of… Continue
